Rebuilding After Woolsey

  1. DEMO AND CLEAN UP

Cal Recycle will clean up fire debris, if you opt-in and qualify. Cal Recycle will remove your entire burnout including the foundation and 6” of dirt, which is required if you choose to use Cal Recycle/OES. You will be need final soils testing and approval, before beginning new construction.

If you choose to opt-out of Cal Recycles clean up, we can clean up fire debris with a certified hazardous material demo contractor and have a structural engineer review any foundation that is still existing to determine the feasibility for reusing/upgrading the foundation. You will still need final soils testing and approval, before you begin to rebuild.

  2. REBUILDING AND PLANNING

Most rebuilding projects will need a Soils Engineer, Architect, and Structural Engineer to prepare a set of plans for new home construction. All new homes will be required to be built to current building codes and standards. We can introduce you to any of the Partners on our site to help with planning. All of our Partners are local and very familiar with our properties, City codes, seismic conditions, and hillside planning.

3. PERMITS

Expediting services are available and can be provided to help with the plan approval process. Most of our local Architects provide these services as well.
